SmartphoneFree.Family is a grassroots initiative empowering parents to collectively delay smartphone and social media use for children in Grade 9 and younger.
How It Works
Parents at your school register their commitment to keep their children smartphone and social media free until Grade 10.
Once 51% of families sign the agreement, it becomes binding for all participating families. This collective approach removes the social pressure kids face.
Families display bumper stickers, participate in mailing lists, and support each other in protecting childhood from smartphone addiction.
Why This Matters: Research shows that smartphone and social media use is linked to increased anxiety, depression, and social isolation in teens. By acting collectively, we give our children back their childhood—time to play, create, and build real-world relationships.
